Five Most Unusual Treats That Your Dog Will Love

Dogs are like little children in something. They are just as curious, active, but most importantly, they love all kinds of treats. Delicacies play an essential role in every dog’s life.

For the owner, it’s one of the best ways to reward a pet for good behaviour or effort, to express his approval, and to pamper a beloved friend, while for the dog it’s a signal to do the right thing – to please the owner – to get a delicious treat.

By the way, encouraging a tasty treat is also strengthening the relationship of trust between the animal and man. There are not only unusual but also useful delicacies for your four-legged friends. What are they and what benefits can bring this unique food to the animal body?

Deer Horns

Usually, they are used by hunters to decorate the house, and a very classic can be considered a deer horn fixed above the fireplace. But they’re not so often used as dog treats. Well, they’re not.

Even if this “tasty treat” is not too tasty, the useful properties of the horns are abundant:

  • They’re not caloric;
  • When a dog chews horns, his teeth are naturally free of plaque and even tartar;
  • Horns help strengthen gums and teeth. Their tissue is moderately hard and does not damage the delicate enamel of the dog’s teeth;
  • “Killing” the horns of many unhappy dogs weaned them from damaging furniture.

Finally, horns are an absolutely natural and utterly harmless delicacy that has a positive effect on intestinal motor skills.

Bull & Deer Dried Tracheales

Unusual and not too tasty looking doggie treat. For pets, however, a dried trachea is an excellent treat with several advantages:

  • A minimum of calories. Pieces of the trachea can be spoiled during training without worrying about putting on weight;
  • The trachea acts as a natural toothbrush to prevent bacterial plaque and tartar build-up.

Besides, dry dog tracheas are a truly delicious treat that is ideal for use as encouragement and praise. In addition to dog tracheas, other dry by-products can be purchased. Keep in mind, however, that their different types can be quite calorific and therefore often should not be given to dogs. Dried sinews are an exception.

CBD Treats

Probably the most unusual treat on that list. Many people know about CBD products for humans, but has everyone heard that there are also CBD treats for your pets?

Yes, fluffy friends have an excellent opportunity to enjoy the same CBD oil benefits effect as you. Your four-legged friend, like you, has an endocannabinoid system that can interact with CBD – and with formulations based on pet size, you can ensure they get the best possible effect.

The general fear of pet safety when given CBD is that many people do not understand the critical differences between CBD and THC. They are very easily confused as they come from the same group of plants and are structurally very similar. At first glance, it seems that CBD may have a psychoactive effect on your pet identical to THC, but it is not. The main difference between CBD and THC is that not only does CBD have no psychotropic effect, it also helps to cope with some ailments, such as digestive and joint diseases. There is also scientific evidence that CBD is capable of calming anxious animals during fireworks and thunderstorms.

The most popular treats are considered to be CBD hard chews and CBD oil for pets with different tastes. It is enough to give a few pieces of CBD chews a day, or add CBD oil, for example, bacon flavoured food. The main thing to remember is that everything should be measured and used with your vet approval.

Sheep, Deer & Cow Dried Limbs

For the production of such an extravagant treat, animal legs cut off on the knee, or elbow joints are used. They are thoroughly dried, and some manufacturers use small amounts of preservatives. The legs are only recommended for dogs of large breeds:

  • They train the jaws of large dogs entirely;
  • With this ‘projectile’, a dog is much more likely to play with you.

Of course, with such specific “tasty treats” we would advise spoiling only dogs living in the street or give them to dogs only during trips to the dacha. Coat and scraps of skin will inevitably fly around a keen pet, and puddles of drool are not the best thing to do at home.

Dried Pork Ears

Another unusual treat, just adored by all dogs without exception. It is not only delicious but also very healthy:

  • As with other long-playing gifts, ears play the role of a “toothbrush”;
  • They can be used to train the jaw system of young animals and small dogs;
  • Collagen cartilage, which is the main ears, is extremely useful for joint health;
  • The ear tissue contains many vitamins (in particular, many B vitamins and nicotinic acid), trace elements;
  • Ears is a product rich in light, high-quality protein, but not excessive fat (which is very typical for pork).
