The Rapid Evolution of E-Cigs

As technology becomes more advanced, so does the e-cig industry. Before, devices were big and bulky and vape shops were few and far in-between, but now they’re everywhere and you can customize your e-cig exactly how you want it.

Evolution of e-Cig

The first e-cigarette was created in 2003 by Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist. Years after, the e-cig industry and shops grew exponentially. It’s now more mainstream than niche and accessible to those who want to start a new hobby or change the way they smoke.

Vape manufacturing and design has also expanded to include mini PCBs, or printed circuit boards and touchscreen capability and Bluetooth geo-fencing as a means to prevent minors from getting their hands on one.

Soon, we can look forward to smart vaping products and more flavors in a liquid shop anywhere in the world.

Going back to 2003, Lik designed a cigar-like device which had a short battery life and limited flavors. In the next iteration, pen vape kits, removable batteries and innovative output modes were introduced. E-liquid flavors were rising at breakneck pace. Users and vape shop owners began experimenting with different tastes and came up with very unique ones.

Today, customization can vary from one person to another, which means that no two vaping devices are alike. Much like in building a PC, you can choose from various components such as batteries, atomizers, shells, kits and of course, the juice. Distributors have come up with marketing strategies and specific products for traditional cigarette smokers to capture a greater share of the market.

The Future of E-Cigs

The popularity of e-cigarettes will push it into the digital world. It’s not impossible for apps to be developed to further customize your vaping experience. Bluetooth and other connectivity options can control and manage your vaping device. The footprint becomes smaller, slimmer and yet have more features than ever.
