Things To Note About iOS 15

Every time a software update comes out for your iPhone, you likely have another debate about whether you should download it or not. Will it give you a ton of new features you’ve wanted? Or will it have so many bugs it renders your phone unusable?

The iOS 15 update came out in September 2021. Since then, Apple has released patches to fix some of its worst bugs. The most recent update, iOS 15.3, came out in January 2022, though the tech company has announced that it will make more features available in future updates.

How to Download the iOS 15 Update

If you never received a notification prompting you to download iOS 15, don’t worry. You can still get the update. It’s as simple as going to Settings>General>Software Update. There, you will see iOS 15. Tap the update and choose “Download and Install.” Once you’ve downloaded the update, tap “Install Now” and your iPhone will begin the update process automatically.

You may want to plug your phone in and turn on your Wi-Fi. This will make sure your phone doesn’t die mid-update and keep you from wasting precious data while completing the process.

New iPhone Features with iOS 15

Whether you spend your day scrolling through social media, networking on LinkedIn, or playing slot games like Gclub, the iOS 15 update has some new features you’re sure to love.

●  Notification summary: If you’ve ever wanted your phone to wait until after work to send you Facebook notifications, this update is for you. This feature allows you to choose when your phone delivers non-time-sensitive updates while still enabling you to receive calls and texts.

●  FaceTime: You can now share FaceTime links with people who don’t have Apple products. You can generate a link that your friends or family members can use to join your call using their Windows PC or Android browser.

●  Focus: This new feature allows you to create up to 10 “focuses” that help you limit distractions. For example, you can pick and choose when you receive notifications, customize your home screens, and more.

●  Live text: This unique and innovative update allows you to copy and paste text from pictures. It also automatically opens phone numbers and addresses when you copy those. Finally, you can scan text anywhere using the camera feature.

Should You Skip the iOS 15 Update for iPhones?

We all want to keep our technology as up-to-date as possible. After all, some of your favorite apps may not be compatible if you don’t have the latest update. That said, if you have an iPhone that is older than the 6s (2015), the iOS 15 update will not be compatible. With that in mind, we recommend avoiding the update.

However, for most iPhone users though, the iOS 15 update just makes sense. Keep in mind that you should always back up your data to the Cloud before updating. It’s unlikely, but if something goes wrong during the update, you could lose everything unless you performed a quick backup.
