It is important to keep your face clean and wash it at least twice daily to remove dead skin cells, impurities and also extra oil from the skin. You can use warm water but never hot and use a mild facial cleanser. Avoid skin scrubbing and the usage of harsh soap. Instead, gently wash it and rinse well and then dry it with a clean towel. Once you cleanse your face, the AAD or American Academy of Dermatology recommends using an over-the-counter lotion composed of benzoyl peroxide.

Many experts state that consuming certain foods regularly, like chocolates, never cause pimples. Therefore, it makes sense to avoid consuming junk food and greasy add and replace them while whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Dairy foods and products that are high in processed sugar can trigger acne.

Wear your makeup sparingly:

If you have a skin breakout, then avoid wearing blush or foundation powder. If you have to wear makeup, then don’t forget to wash it off by the day’s end. And if possible, always choose oil-free cosmetics without adding chemicals and dyes. And choose makeup being labeled as “non comedogenic,” which means it shouldn’t cause acne. Finally, always read through the ingredients being listed on the product label before buying them out.

Do not stay long in the sun:

The ultraviolet rays from the sun can increase redness and inflammation and can also cause dark discoloration. Many acne medications will allow your skin to be more sensitive to sun rays. Try to limit your time in the sun, specifically between morning and afternoon hours between 10:00 am and 4 pm, and try wearing protective clothing like pants, shirts, long-sleeved shirts and broad-brimmed hats. If you have pimples or not, try applying a braid spectrum sunscreen of higher SPF and 6% zinc oxide. You can also look for the term “non comedogenic” on the product label to make the sunscreen more likely for pimples. Read the ingredients before you start trying on your skin.

Try any OTC acne product:

Acne products do not require any prescription. Most of them are composed of ingredients like salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, or benzoyl peroxide, which can curb bacteria and dry out your skin. However, it can cause peeling or drying, so you can start using small amounts initially. Try to adjust how much you should use and how many times in a day is recommended.

Daily exercise:

Exercising daily is good for your body, and while exercising, avoid using gym equipment for wearing clothes that can rub your skin and cause irritation. Instead, bathe or shower right after the exercise. Nowadays, face yoga is also very much in trend. Practice it in the morning regularly and get rid of any unwanted acne from your face.

Never pop-up your pimples:

It can be tempting, but you should never push your pimples. The reason behind popping your pimples can also push infected materials from your skin and can lead to more redness and swelling and, at times, even scarring. If you have a big event to attend and a pimple is there, contact a dermatologist as they can treat it better without causing any infection or scarring.
