Pennsylvania Completes First WSOP Event in 2022

The excitement leading up to the first WSOP Pennsylvania event was duly justified as it was a massive success, with the guaranteed prize pool being blown out of the water. Online casinos are going through a surge in recent months, with online action reaching all-time highs. The inclusion of a WSOP event has improved the reputation of the activity even further and encouraged more top operators to enter the market.

This list of roulettesites.org contains PA online casinos will tell you how to get started at an online PA casino, which are the top sites, which casino games you can play, how to get your hands on some bonuses, and so much more. We are going to look at the first Pennsylvania WSOP event of 2022 in a bit more detail, to give you a bit more of an idea about what the fuss has been all about, and how it was such a great success.

A Reduced Guarantee Gets Smashed

For this year’s tournament, the WSOP tournament operator decided to lower the guarantee compared to the one that was in place for the 2021 tournament. This was to give a more obtainable figure, however, it seems that the rather attractive $535,000 guarantee was setting the bar a little too low, as it hit that very quickly, and then went on to guarantee more than an additional 50% on top of that. The first event was a true sign of things to come, with a tidy $40,000 guarantee in the prize pool, tournament hosts and players alike were delighted when it reached $88,800 for the January 5th event, which is more than double what the conservative estimate was.

The tournament concluded on January 16th, by which point the tournament had generated a total prize pool guarantee of $838,360. This figure not only represents 56.7% more than the original prize pool guarantee, but in actual fact, if the tournament had had the same guarantee as it did last year, it would’ve surpassed that too, and by a substantial margin. Last year’s guarantee was $630,000, however, with the contributions not quite reaching that amount, the operator was forced to pay some overlay, hence the reasons for this year’s reduced prize pool guarantee.

Tournament Overview

In total, there were 12 events on the WSOP PA 2022 online circuit, starting on the 5th January, and commencing on 16th January. For each of these events, there was an average of $44,583 guaranteed for each event, but after all entrants, the average prize pool for each event was $69,863. This figure marks an impressive 56.7% above the guarantee.

Throughout the 12 events, there were 2385 players, and 807 re-buys, taking the total number of entries to 3192, and the average number of entries per event to 266. With so much at stake, it was highly recommended that every player uses some form of the latest cyber security as an additional layer of protection, as well as allowing for seamless gameplay.

The Standout Events

The one standout event of the whole circuit was the very first one, with a buy-in of $215. The final prize pool came in at $88,800, which was 122% above the guarantee of $40,000. Event 7 had the highest cost to buy in with $1,000. This event had a prize pool of 87.2% over the guarantee of $50,000, generating $93,590 with 98 entries. Event 3 had a buy in of $215 and raised a prize pool of $55,600, which was 85.3% over the guarantee of $30,000. The next highest was event 9 which raised a prize pool of $69,583, which was 74% over the guaranteed prize pool of $40,000.

As a matter of fact, there wasn’t a single event that didn’t manage to reach its guaranteed prize pool. The lowest percentage of the guarantee by far was event 11. This event had a buy in of $315, and managed to generate $54,000, which was 8% over the guarantee of $50,000. Every other event managed at least 31% over the guaranteed prize pool, which is a staggering turnaround considering that just a year before, the operator had to pay an overlay.

 A Great Success

Although the circuit event started in epic fashion by easily making the guarantee and then some, the operator was thinking cautiously following what had happened the year before. However, poker is a rock-solid casino event and its popularity shone through. Poker has a tremendous following, is one of the most entertaining casino games, and surprisingly, poker can help you in marketing and business. It took until event 8 for the guarantee to be a whisker away from meeting the line of circuit guarantee, and by event 9, the line had well and truly been crossed, marking a tremendously successful tournament, and one that could be the benchmark for upcoming events. Aside from benchmarking, there are possibilities to learn from different markets while comparing the US to Germany, or any other impactful country.
